CERTIFIED ADDICTION COUNSELOR TRAINING - CAC I & II
The Substance Abuse Counselor Training is designed to help individuals acquire the skills and knowledge that will assist them in counseling those who suffer from the effects of substance abuse.
The training meets the educational and training requirements established according to requirements of GACA and NAADAC. Participants completing this program will be prepared for certification. If state or national exam is not passed ReKonstruction cannot be held liable.

Scope of Training
Training is to provide participants with the skills necessary to counsel clients in the recovery process. Topics and skills include assessment, treatment planning, individual and group counseling, case management, crisis intervention, client education, and community resources.
The program consists of 180 hours. Sessions meet one weekend a month, Friday and Saturday (March/May/August have a Thursday class). Recommend completion of the program in 6 months.

PURPOSE OF COUNSELOR-TRAINING-ENDORSEMENT
Georgia Addiction Counselors Association (GACA) has implemented the Counselor-In-Training Endorsement (CIT) to assist individuals who are seeking to become Certified Addiction Counselors. CIT candidates will be required to receive direct supervision and support from a GACA Certified Clinical Supervisor. This process must be completed within 3 years.
